Honor Guard Chicken BBQ Dinner Schedule

The Post 194 Honor Guard will be having three Chicken BBQ's this year. The 1st one will be held on May 26th, Memorial Day Monday. The 2nd one will be held on Friday, July 4th and the 3rd will be held on Labor Day, Monday, September 1st. The BBQ's will be from 12:00 noon and last until 5pm (or until we sell out). Our Chicken BBQ's have been very successful during the past several years, so plan to get there early. The dinner will consist of 1/2 chicken, baked beans, cole slaw, and roll and butter. The cost is $8.00.

Looking ahead....

Here are a few events coming up this summer to mark on your calendars!

--Our Annual Family Day Picnic will be on Sunday, August 3rd from 2:00-6:00pm at the Legion Pavilion. We will be having hot dogs, hamburgers, sweet corn, and an assortment of snacks. We will also have sodas and other refreshments available. This year we thought we would add several additional food items such as specialty dishes and an assortment of desserts. If any member would like to bring in a covered dish, specialty dish, or some type of dessert, these items would be gladly accepted. There will be a variety of games available for the children. This event is free to any Legion member and their family.

--Our annual Crab Feast will be held on Sunday, September 14th from 1:00-5:00pm. Live music will be from 2:00-6:00pm. Tickets must be purchased in advanced by Friday, September 12th. NO TICKET SALES WILL OCCUR ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT!! The ticket prices are $35 for adults and $18 for children 10 years and under. Tickets will available soon.

--The Honor Guard will be having a gun raffle for 3 guns. The drawings will be held at this year's Crab Feast on September 14th. Featured in this year's raffle are the following prizes
1st drawing - Henry 44 Magnum Big Boy (or $450)
2nd drawing - Henry 22 Magnum Golden Boy (or $350)
3rd drawing - Henry Golden Boy 22 Long Rifle (or $300)
These rifles are currently on display at the Legion. Stop in and buy your raffle tickets to help support your Honor Guard. You can also purchase your gun raffle tickets from any member of the Honor Guard.

Flag Day Ceremony- Saturday June 14th

We will be having our Annual Flag Day program on Saturday, June 14th, beginning at 11:00am. Please note that we have changed the time of this ceremony to 11:00am!

We will be retiring many old, worn, tattered Flags of our Country in a formal Flag Retirement/Flag Burning Ceremony. The Upper Chesapeake Community Band will provide a selection of patriotic music from 10:30-11:00am. The Flag Day program will begin promptly at 11:00am. The band will also provide additional patriotic music during the ceremony.

Memorial Day Ceremony

This year we will be holding our annual Memorial Day program on Friday, May 30th. We will be having a short Memorial Day ceremony at the West Nottingham Presbyterian Church Cemetary, at Brookview Cemetary, at Calvery Cemetary, and at the Veteran's Memorial in Center Town of Rising Sun. The actual times at these locations will be announced at a later date. Our main Memorial Day ceremony will be held at the Legion Pavilion at 11:00am. We hope to see a large turnout for this event. This year we will again be providing musical entertainment. We also will schedule the "Cecil Fall Guys", a group of local Sky Divers, to drop in at the pavilion as a part of our program.

Annual Father's Day Bull Roast

A reminder to everyone!!

This year's Annual Father's Day Bull roast will be held on Sunday, June 15th. Food will be from 1:00-5:00pm and music will be from 2:00-6:00pm. Music will be provided by "Dry Run". Tickets are now available! The cost of the tickets are:
